therapy Customized Just for You

Life’s challenges can often leave us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected. Whether you’re navigating the impact of trauma, neurodivergence, or life’s unexpected transitions, you may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of where to turn next.

You might already know how to care for yourself but find it hard to prioritize your goals or healthier choices.

Maybe you’ve spent years walking on eggshells—at home, at work, or in relationships—affected by the weight of coercive control and interpersonal violence.

You might feel like an outsider, looking in on a world where your path feels meaningless or disconnected.

Or you might carry shame and guilt for your emotional ups and downs, especially in moments where you react instead of respond. If any of this resonates, we want you to know: You are not alone.

I believe that everyone has the potential to heal, grow, and thrive.

As an associate* counselor, I’m here to offer you a safe, compassionate space to explore your emotions, discover your strengths, and regain control of your journey.

*Associate: I have completed my Community Mental Health Counseling coursework and on-site training. According to the regulations of Texas, I will work 3000 additional hours under the supervision of Vicki WIlliams-Pattersonm MCAT, LPC-AT, CCST-AC-T Licensed Professional Supervisor #9021

Note: I am not new to trauma and have been through my own counseling journey, feel free to read my bio to learn more about how I came to choose this career.

The Parts of Your Brain
at Creative Fox
Counseling Center*

Your Wise Owl

The wise owl symbolizes the pre-frontal cortex, the center of executive functions and rational thinking. When we’re upset, it’s like our owl has ‘flown away,’ akin to Dan Siegel’s hand model of ‘flipping the lid.’

Your Watch Dog

The watchdog represents the amygdala, constantly scanning our environment to help us identify and respond to threats. As stress intensifies, our protective watchdog can escalate from cautious vigilance to an ‘Attack Dog’ mode.

Your Possom

The possum represents the dorsal vagal complex, activating our primitive survival instincts located at the back of the brain. It helps us freeze (dissociate and ignore an issue) and fawn (neglect our needs in order to please others) in response to toxic stress, also known as trauma.

*Note: Robyn Gobbel is responsible for translating the language of polyvagal theory into this easy-to-understand version!

Trauma Informed Care =
What happened to you,
not what’s wrong with you!

Customized for Your Needs

We offer trauma-informed care with information and techniques from many theories, yet believe each client is unique and enjoy individualizing treatment based on what you’re dealing with and in collaboration with you and your goals.

We aim to guide clients in reconnecting with their inner wisdom and using creativity as a tool for healing.

Our Founder Alexis’ background includes a Master’s in Community Mental Health Counseling and a dual Bachelor’s in Anthropology and Psychology, with a minor in Religion. She identifies as neurodivergent, which helps her offer a compassionate, tailored approach for individuals with similar experiences.

We use creativity as a healing tool and often incorporate expressive arts like journaling, visual arts, movement, and breathwork into our practice.
